Sonoma is undoubtedly one of the best places on earth to live. So it was a tough decision to pack up our three children and head east for a year in search of a New Haven style pizza that would be the star of the Sonoma eatery we envisioned starting as a family. We toured, tasted and tinkered, and finally came home with our very own secret recipe to open The Red Grape just off Sonoma’s historic plaza nearly ten years ago. The pizza crust we created back then became the tasty foundation we have built on in more ways than one ever since.
Our thin, crispy crusts are high fired in a stone-lined pizza oven, topped with the freshest ingredients sourced from the finest purveyors. Our red and white pizzas, from our acclaimed Margherita to our more tantalizingly esoteric combinations like the Pear and Gorgonzola, appeal to an array of discerning tastebuds. Through the years, our menu has grown under the watchful eyes of talented chefs, Pedro Morales and Dagmar Carruth, to feature fresh, locally made pastas and a veritable gardenful of gourmet salads. Of course, the red grape, the sweet little tomato that graces many of our dishes, is not the only grape we’re fond of; our wine list features the best of Sonoma Valley’s award winning vintages for the perfect accompaniment to your meal.
All this goodness is served up in our inviting eatery by our wonderfully accommodating staff, many of whom have been with us since the early days. We appreciate all our guests who have helped make The Red Grape a success and, in doing so, have also made it possible for us to give back to the community we love.
